Love for God - Love for each other - Love for learning

Year 2 learning journey

In year 2 we have started off the year exploring our learning and how to assess our work. We have special checking glasses to help us with them. Can you see them?

The children in year 2 have been exploring the story of the enormous crocodile. We pretended to visit the jungle school so that later on this week we will be able to write postcards!

In our science lessons, we have been asking and answering questions about the different habitats that animals live in, and how and what they need to survive.

In Maths, we have been comparing and ordering measurements and recording the results using <, > and =, as well as simple multiples. We have been practising how to measure accurately using rulers, metre sticks and tape measures, and recording carefully using standard units e.g. centimetres (CMS) and metres(M).

Term 2

Term 2 has begun and we have been exploring friendship week. We worked together to make a dance about friendship. We danced to the song from Toy Story, 'You've got a friend in me.'

Maths Warm Up

In year 2 we have begun to use a maths warm up to help us practise the skills we have learnt about in previous lessons. We listen to music and challenge our learning further.

Making our friendship superheroes!

We designed our own superheroes, who save others and help them to become friends. We really explored the understanding of the powers that the superheroes have to help everyone to be a good friend.
