Welcome to the Reception Class Page

Meet the Reception/EYFS Team:

Class Teacher: Miss G. Hooper

I began working at St. Osmund's about two years ago, however I attended as a child many years ago. I feel very much at home at St. Osmund's and it is the strong community feel that drew me back all these years later. I have a real passion for Early Years education and I strive to create a warm, welcoming and safe environment for young learners. I have a keen interest in History, alongside my EYFS teaching I am subject lead for Humanities (Geography and History).

Teaching Assistant: Mrs K. Sheard

I started working at St. Osmund's 18 years ago as a member of the Kitchen staff, and then half way through that first year I became a Lunchtime Supervisor and volunteer. Since then I have become a Teaching Assistant alongside a Lunchtime Supervisor role, and a Swim Teacher. Over the years, I have worked in every class! I have an NVQ level 2 qualification in children's teaching and learning, with an S.E.N addition. I really enjoy Art and I run an Art club after school.

Teaching Assistant: Mrs L. Smith

I started working at St. Osmund's 7 years ago. I wear many different hats through the school day...! I am a Midday Lunchtime Supervisor, a Teaching Assistant in Reception for two afternoons a week, and a School Cleaner after school. As  well as my son attending this school everyday, I also come in and volunteer with school trips, visits to the local church for Parish Mass, and to support staff and children at PE festivals off-site.

Home Learning Update

We understand that families have quite different circumstances when it comes to numbers of children in the home, demands on tech/devices, working patterns etc. Please don't forget you need to find a rhythm, quantity and type of learning that works for you, and not to agonise over this - do what you can. All we ask is you continue to stay in touch with us through Google Classroom or by email.
