Special Educational Needs

The Ordinary Available Provision offer at St Osmund's:

At St Osmund’s Catholic Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that every child is supported to flourish academically, socially and spiritually. Our Ordinarily Available Provision (OAP) sets out the inclusive approaches and support that are part of everyday practice across the school.

This document explains:

  • The support that is ordinarily available to all pupils in our classrooms.

  • How teaching is adapted to meet a wide range of learning needs.

  • The graduated approach we use to support pupils through Universal, Targeted and Specialist provision.

  • The provision we offer across the four broad areas of need identified in the SEND Code of Practice:

    • Cognition and Learning

    • Communication and Interaction

    • Social, Emotional and Mental Health

    • Sensory and Physical

We hope this document helps you understand how we support children at St Osmund’s to thrive and access learning successfully.

WILTSHIRE LOCAL OFFER

The Local Offer should explain what help and services are available for children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities. This means telling you what's available in Wiltshire and what the local authority thinks should be available outside the area for children it is responsible for.
